The reason I’m sharing this setting is to set the stage for a story I want to share about my oldest grandson, Tommy, and these squirrels. Many years ago when Tommy was little, I would find these squirrels lined up like little soldiers after he spent the day visiting. At first I thought it was my hubby playing a prank. And then it happened again the following year after Tommy’s visit. Tommy was diagnosed with high functioning autism when he was 5. After I read some books on the subject and talked with my daughter-in-law, I realized that lining things up was one of Tommy’s adorable little quirks.
My place settings sit undisturbed now that Tommy is a teenager and has outgrown his quirky habit. What memories do you have of your children or grandchildren from the fall time?
