Baby Birds

The eggs have hatched! Oh look at the babies they are so cute 🐦🐦. The first picture is from two days ago, and this is from today. Now of course the mama doesn’t sit on them anymore, but she is close by. I was on my porch yesterday so the mother and father were conversing rather loudly. I guess they didn’t like me being outside. Well the weather is finally accepting that it’s spring. The …

Birds Nesting

Well it’s Friday, the start of the weekend. I’m going to be busy putting away Easter. Oh what fun! I really don’t want to because it’s so early, but goodbye Easter bunnies and Easter eggs and Easter baskets. Now changing the subject because this is what I’m dealing with. I haven’t bought any hanging flower baskets yet because it has been so cold here. The birds usually build their nests in them. Well momma bird …

Spring Green Sunroom

My sunroom fireplace mantel is very green for spring (and St. Patrick’s Day). This apple tree is an oldie but a goodie. I am thinking that it may be time to take it apart and repurpose it. There is a grape vine cone underneath all the apples and grapes. I can reuse those for something else next year. These two metal bird candle holders are vintage Pottery Barn. I also have a matching bird cage …

Blue Birds on Branches

I’ve continued the bird theme over on the buffet in my dining room. I told you that I love vases that I can use for every season. These beautiful green branches scream spring. Can you spy the little blue bird perched on a branch? The runner is a mellow yellow that picks up on the yellow of the eggs.  There is a feather wreath around bird dish and a metal tray off to the side again …

A Spring Place Setting for the Birds

I’ve gone with a bird theme for my spring dining room table. The stitching on this table runner makes the birds pop. I scattered some brown feathers around. I love getting different colors of feathers from Michaels to use for added texture to things. I just love this bird plate. It really makes me look forward to spring. I tucked in a blue napkin with the bird’s nest napkin to make the blue eggs stand …

Are You My Mother?

Are You My Mother? I think all parents and grandparents remember this story by Dr. Seuss. I, myself, have read it quite a few times to the little ones. Every time I see these two ducks, I’m reminded of that story. They are sitting with some fallen forsythia flowers and blue eggs. Here I am bringing a definite pop of spring with the large vase that is a mellow yellow compared to the vibrant color …

Waiting for Spring

The weather is getting a little warmer here in New Jersey this week. It feels like spring may be here soon. Or maybe that is wishful thinking. I added this large bird to this vignette because I like the way his coloring goes with the Tuscan pieces. In the vase, I added some pussy willow branches to a fern. Blue candles sit on pillar candles surrounded by pebbles. Next I’ve tucked a nest next to …

Hurry Up Spring

So my birds have started to land. I’m not talking about the Eagles because I’m a New Yorker born and raised so I stay true to the New York teams. But what is the saying about love the one you are with? So good job Eagles! Once Valentine’s Day has come and gone, I start dreaming of warmer days, flowering trees, and my beloved spring. With the nests and birds and little touches of outdoors …
