Amaryllis in Deep Red

I’m posting these pictures from Thanksgiving because a lot of people do turkey for Christmas also. This is our turkey deep frying. We started this tradition about 5 years ago. You haven’t tasted the best turkey until you’ve tasted a deep fried one. It is moist in the center and crispy on the outside. My youngest son, Greg, did the frying and carving.  It’s great to have family traditions that you can pass down to …

Falling for Fall

I thought I would share a couple of fall foliage pictures that my daughter-in-law took on a recent trip to Bucks County, PA. This beautiful picture was taken from Bowman’s Hill Tower. The tops of those trees and the clouds are just breathtaking. And there is my granddaughter, Rebecca, standing at the location of the famous Washington Crossing. My turkey display on my mantle it’s done with creams and caramel. There is some wheat tucked …

💙💙 Love my rug tapestry 💙💙

I’m really loving this great wall tapestry that I added to the wall. All of my wall decor is old, or should I say outdated. It needs to be replaced, but as I’ve told you, I have a problem making up my mind. This change took me awhile to make. The problem is that I like things, but they don’t necessarily go with my decor. Well to practice what I preach when I tell you …

For Thanksgiving, I’ve opted for this large silver turkey platter from Lenox. It is a quite heavy piece. First, I placed the platter at an angle to add a touch of interest. Next, I added …

Fall 2017 Living Room Decor (Part 2)

As you have probably noticed from my previous pictures, I don’t nod to anything other decorators do.  While I like things others have done, I have found that they don’t suit me. In the corner of my living room near my front entrance, I’ve placed a large pitcher and bowl filled with golden leaves, orange berries, and moss covered branches. The scent of cinnamon greets you as you enter the house from the cinnamon pine …

Fall 2017 Living Room Decor

I just love the fig color that is haute this year.  I used that as my inspiration for my living room this fall season. On my fireplace mantel, I am using a mercy etched pillar holder with a mercy catch pot.  There are a bunch of flowers and berries thrown in.  And the cutest plum pumpkin is the perfect touch. I don’t have a coffee table so I use my ottoman with a tray.  Keeping …
